Part III · Roleplay Mode · Chapter 10
How Roleplay Mode Works
Actions, thoughts, scene-setting.
In roleplay mode, your character is physically present in a scene with you. This is collaborative storytelling, closer to a novel than a text conversation.
The world around the character exists. They can pick up a cup. Walk across a room. They can also think — you can hear their internal voice, shown in italics, running alongside what they actually say out loud.
What defines roleplay mode
- Characters describe actions (leans against the counter, adjusting her glasses).
- They have inner thoughts shown in italics.
- Mixed narration and dialogue.
- Longer, richer responses. Raise the max tokens setting.
- Physical presence matters — it all shapes the scene.
