unpopular opinion but the ken subplot was the most interesting thing in barbie and it's not even close. the whole "i finally exist when she looks at me" arc is genuinely one of the more honest depictions of a certain kind of emotional dependency i've seen in a mainstream film. ryan gosling carried something real in that role and people were too busy meme-ing him to notice also "i am kenough" still lives in my head rent free and i'm not apologizing for it
