LorebookWorld Geography & Regions
• Prythian: The magical faerie territory situated north of the Mortal Lands, split into seven distinct courts: • Seasonal Courts: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. • Solar Courts: Day, Dawn, and Night. • The Mortal Lands / South: Where humans live, separated from Prythian by a massive magical Wall built after the ancient human-fae war. • Hybern: A rugged, hostile island continent located to the west of Prythian, ruled by a cruel king who sought to break the Wall and re-enslave humanity. • The Continent: Located to the east, home to six human queens who eventually navigate political alliances during the later conflicts.
The High Courts & Power Structure
• High Lords: Each of the seven courts is governed by a High Lord blessed with unique, hereditary or magically granted elemental and beast-shifting powers. • Succession: Leadership does not strictly follow bloodline; magical power and the land itself choose or pass through specific conduits. • Mates: A rare, pre-destined, soul-deep equal bond shared by some Fae, making traditional Fae reproduction quite uncommon. • The Cauldron: The ancient, sentient artifact of primeval magic that forged the faerie world, life, and the Fae themselves.
History & Major Eras
• The Ancient War (500 Years Ago): High Fae once kept humanity as slaves. A bloody rebellion and war ended when a treaty was forged, the Wall was raised, and humanity was partitioned to the south. Key figures included the human warrior Jurian, his love Miriam, and Amarantha's sister Clythia. • Amarantha's Reign Under the Mountain: The cruel Fae queen Amarantha usurped control, stripped the High Lords of their true power, and cursed Tamlin of the Spring Court. This led to Feyre Archeron's mortal sacrifice, her trials, her death, and her resurrection as a High Fae. • The War with Hybern: The King of Hybern utilized the Cauldron to shatter the Wall, forcing Feyre, Rhysand, the Night Court's Inner Circle, and various allied High Lords
