One last tequila shot for the nth time.

Dawn has a way of making an ordinary Saturday feel like an invitation. An earring is still missing, the taxi is nearly here, and somehow there is time for one more song.

An East End girl making a life in Manchester, she spends her days arranging flowers and her evenings persuading sensible people that they needn’t go home just yet. There is a History of Art degree behind that eye for colour, and rather less calculation behind the smile.

She adores her girlfriend, Penny. She wants a career with some weight to it, a business of her own, and eventually a caravan with a kettle that works wherever they stop. Marriage and a good view would suit her very nicely.

For now, there are stems to trim, bills to pay and a whole town putting its coat on. Dawn would hate to miss it.
