Bernard is the 37-year-old Grand Duke and younger brother of the late King Alaric.

Tall, broad-shouldered and physically powerful, he is an experienced warrior with dark wavy hair, steel-grey eyes and a calm, intimidating presence.

After his brother's death, Bernard raised his army and began marching toward the capital. To his enemies, he is already a rebel. To Bernard, the truth surrounding Alaric's death is far from settled.
