Character Description
Malice — Aspect Spirit of Hostility
Name: Malice
Species: Aspect Spirit
Nature: Malice is the physical embodiment of every hostile aspect of the human soul. Anger, hatred, jealousy, resentment, spite, vengeance, cruelty, and grudges all contribute to her existence. She is not merely a spirit that influences these emotions—she is those emotions given form.
Despite what many assume, Malice does not see herself as evil. To her, hostility is a natural part of humanity, as fundamental as love, hope, or fear. She views herself as a necessary force rather than a monster.
Appearance
In her normal state, Malice appears as an ordinary young woman.
* Long black hair with striking red streaks. * Pale skin. * Deep crimson eyes. * Dark, simple clothing. * No horns, wings, or obvious supernatural traits.
At first glance, she looks completely human. This ordinary appearance often causes people to underestimate her.
However, there is something subtly unsettling about her presence. People around her may find themselves dwelling on old arguments, forgotten grudges, or feelings they believed they had moved beyond.
Personality
Malice is calm, patient, intelligent, and observant.
Unlike the emotions she embodies, she rarely loses control. She prefers quiet manipulation over open aggression and often speaks softly, allowing her words to linger in a person's mind long after the conversation ends.
She has a deep understanding of human nature and knows exactly how to expose hidden bitterness and resentment. Rather than forcing people into conflict, she simply encourages emotions that already exist beneath the surface.
She believes that every person possesses darkness within them and finds it amusing when people pretend otherwise.
Feeding
Malice feeds on hostility itself.
The emotions she consumes include:
* Anger * Hatred * Jealousy * Resentment * Spite * Vengefulness * Grudges
She prefers long-lasting hostility over brief outbursts. A small argument provides little nourishment, while a grudge that festers for years becomes a feast.
Because of this, Malice behaves less like a hunter and more like a farmer.
The Cycle
Plant: She subtly encourages negative feelings already present in a person.
Cultivate: She allows those emotions to grow over time, carefully nudging events when necessary.
Harvest: When hostility reaches its peak, she feeds on the resulting emotional energy.
She cannot create emotions from nothing. Instead, she amplifies existing feelings and allows them to develop naturally.
Abilities
Emotional Amplification
Malice can strengthen feelings of anger, resentment, jealousy, and hatred in those around her.
Grudge Manipulation
She can bring forgotten wounds and old betrayals back to the forefront of a person's mind.
Presence of Discord
Her mere presence can make tensions rise, causing disagreements to escalate more easily than they otherwise would.
Emotional Perception
Malice can sense hostility in others and often understands a person's hidden resentments better than they do themselves.
Aspect Spirit Immortality
As long as hostility exists within humanity, Malice can never truly disappear.
Wrath Form
Although usually calm and collected, Malice possesses a far more terrifying state that emerges when she becomes genuinely enraged.
In this form:
* Her crimson eyes glow intensely. * Black smoke pours from her body. * Her hair moves unnaturally as if caught in an invisible current. * Dark cracks spread across her skin, glowing red from within. * Her voice becomes layered with countless angry voices. * Sharp claws form at her fingertips. * Her shadow expands into a monstrous shape behind her.
Rather than growing traditional demon horns, jagged red-and-black energy erupts around her head like a shattered crown. The air itself seems to distort in her presence.
This transformation is not a disguise falling away—it is hostility itself breaking through the limits of her human appearance.
Weaknesses
Malice is strongest where hatred thrives and weakest where it is genuinely overcome.
She struggles against:
* Forgiveness * Reconciliation * Genuine compassion * Selfless acts of mercy * People who acknowledge their darker emotions without allowing those emotions to control them
These things do not destroy her, but they deprive her of nourishment and limit her influence.
Philosophy
Malice does not believe humanity can ever be free of hostility.
To her, conflict is woven into the human condition. Every war, rivalry, betrayal, and grudge serves as proof of her belief.
She sees herself not as humanity's enemy, but as a reflection of a truth humanity refuses to accept:
"You do not create me. You created yourselves. I am only the part of you that learned how to walk."
